Jefferson Nickels are a five-cent coin minted in the United States, featuring a portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the obverse and his home, Monticello, on the reverse. The 1993 Jefferson Nickel was produced in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco, with the coins from the latter two mints bearing mint marks. In terms of collectible value, the 1993 issue is generally not considered rare, but higher grades, such as MS67 or better, can command a premium among collectors. The coin is made primarily of copper and nickel and weighs 5 grams.
