Washington quarters are a series of 25-cent coins featuring the portrait of George Washington, the first President of the United States. Minted from 1932 onwards, the 1964 Washington quarter is particularly notable as it was the last year of production using 90% silver content before the transition to a clad composition. These coins are highly sought after by collectors, especially in uncirculated and high-grade conditions, due to their historical significance and intrinsic silver value. The reverse of the coin originally depicted an eagle, which was later replaced by a design celebrating statehood and the national parks in subsequent years.
