The 50 Statehood Quarters are a series of quarters issued by the United States Mint from 1999 to 2008, commemorating each of the 50 states in the order of their admission to the Union. The 25-cent coins feature unique designs representing each state's history, culture, and symbols. In 2002, five state quarters were released: Tennessee, Ohio, Louisiana, Indiana, and Mississippi. Collecting these quarters became a popular hobby, leading to increased interest in numismatics and state-specific memorabilia.
