Philadelphia - Coins

The Susan B. Anthony dollar was introduced by the United States Mint in 1979 as the first female figure to be featured on a circulating US coin in over a century. The coin was minted in Philadelphia, as well as in Denver and San Francisco, and it has a distinctive design featuring a portrayal of Susan B. Anthony on the obverse. The reverse showcases an eagle in flight, along with the inscription "One Dollar." Though controversial upon its release, the coin is now considered a collectible item, especially in uncirculated or proof conditions. The 1979 Philadelphia mint issue is particularly sought after by collectors.
