Eisenhower Dollars are a series of coins produced by the United States Mint from 1971 to 1978, featuring President Dwight D. Eisenhower on the obverse and an image of the Apollo 11 mission insignia on the reverse. The 1976 Eisenhower Dollar was issued in celebration of the United States Bicentennial, featuring a dual date of 1776-1976. Coins from the Philadelphia Mint are distinguished by the absence of a mintmark, and these dollars were minted in both copper-nickel and 40% silver compositions, with the silver versions being more sought after by collectors.
