Draped Bust Dollars are a type of silver dollar coin minted in the United States from 1795 to 1803. The design features a portrait of Liberty draped in a flowing gown on the obverse, created by engraver Robert Scott. The reverse displays a small eagle surrounded by a wreath. The first year of issue, 1796, is notable as it was the only year the coin included both "Draped Bust" and the "Small Eagle" design, making it particularly sought after by collectors. These coins were struck in Philadelphia, which was the original mint location at the time.
