Similar in mintage to the 1938 with 8,808 coins struck, the 1939 (PR) is more common in most all grades. It is readily available up to PR67 which is a bit tougher. Only the PR68 is scarce for this issue. The one PR69 is unique and very rare. The 1939 is known for having plenty of stunning gems available with eye appeal that will not disappoint.
