With its mintage of 10,30,000, the 1935-S Buffalo nickel has proven tougher than several other 1930s S-mint issues within the series, but is nonetheless not an outright impossible coin like so many of the 1920s San Francisco nickels seem to be, especially when referring to Gems. PCGS and NGC have graded hundreds in the Superb Gem grade of MS66 and several dozen certified examples are known in MS67.
