The 1911-S Saint-Gaudens double eagle is fairly common as far as Saints go. The coin is readily obtainable in circulated and lower uncirculated grades, though pieces grading MS65 or better are much scarcer and only a relative few are known in MS66 or better and are sought most especially by registry set collectors.

obverse-description Liberty is portrayed standing on a rock, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The word LIBERTY appears on the top periphery surrounded by stars. The date is stamped on the right side of the coin, just above the rock.
