1909-D $20

Coin / United States of America / 1909 / Denver / $20 Saint Gaudens Gold / $20 (Twenty Dollars)

For many years numismatists thought the 1909-D Saint-Gaudens $20 was a rare coin, until a hoard was discovered in South America during the mid 1980s. These days, the issue is still considered a better date but is obtainable with relatively little effort. Mint State pieces are scarce, and Gems are quite rare.
