1908-S $20

Coin / United States of America / 1908 / San Francisco / $20 Saint Gaudens Gold / $20 (Twenty Dollars)

One of the semi-key dates in the series, the 1908-S Saint-Gaudens $20 is much more common in circulated grades than in Mint State, with well fewer than 500 pieces estimated to survive in uncirculated grades. Of those that do, the vast majority less than MS63. A handful are known in the grades of MS65 or better, and these trade for huge premiums.
