1880 3cN

Coin / United States of America / 1880 / Philadelphia / 3-Cent Nickels / 3cN

The mintage continues to drop for the Three Cent Nickels in 1880 with just 21,000 coins struck. The ultimate type coin as the mintage is low which makes it more desirable, yet still quite affordable. Very common up through MS65 at which point the coin becomes scarce as a high-gem. Only the finest of gems are very rare.
