The 1866 is scarcer than the 1865 but is still considered a very nice type coin. Very common up to MS65 at which point the coin becomes scarce as a gem. Only the finest of gems are very rare. The difficulty with this issue is clashed dies; as it is nearly impossible to find an unclashed example.
