1863 3cS

Coin / United States of America / 1863 / Philadelphia / 3-Cent Silver / 3cS

With a mintage of 460 coins, the 1863 Proof Three Cent Silver is a much better date for its type. It is more common up through PR63 but gains some scarcity in PR64 and PR65. PR66 and finer are considered rare as there are significant price jumps. Cameo pieces are far more difficult to locate in all grades. Look for attractive toners as this series is full of them.
