1836 PS$1 Restrike, Silver J-58

Coin / United States of America / $1 (One Dollar) / Patterns / 1836 / Philadelphia

First struck in the late 1850s. Although it has been widely published that 18 originals were struck in 1836, no coin from an uncracked original reverse die has been located. It is presumed that all were issued at a later date, probably commencing circa 1859.
