Undated Gold Half Dollar. Experimental or concept piece. Impressions were struck in gold from a die pair hastily combined. The pieces have large perforation at the center to enable a half dollars worth of gold to be coined in a diameter larger than otherwise would be possible. Two perforated blank planchets also exist.
